After a stellar performance through the U20 World Cup, the US midfielder has passed up offers from Roma and Newcastle (among others) to play for Spanish First Division side Racing de Santander. Szetela signed a three-year deal with the Northern Spain-based club, which began the La Liga season in solid fashion by tying Barcelona last weekend. Racing de Santander finished in 10th place in La Liga last season.

The tactics of dribbling
Talented youth players are first and foremost
good dribblers. Players who can
move the ball at high speeds and fake their
way past multiple opponents stand out;
their ability sets them apart from the rest.
Very young players naturally love to dribble,
so this age is excellent for learning. As
long as coaches let young kids dribble, future
spectators will always have new Ronaldinhos
and Messis to admire...more

How to mend a broken heart: Soccer
John Kass
October 14, 2007
In the fourth quarter of the exciting Bears-Packers game last week, my sons drifted away from the TV, went over to the computer and began watching football highlights.
These football highlights were on YouTube, complete with heavy metal coming out of the speakers.
There was John Terry, the great all-England center back, the defender playing for Chelsea, as tough as any NFL linebacker, banging his head against everything that moved, even the ball.

DIS Tigers get Honors at Chambers Tournament
Our two DIS teams involved in the Chamber 40th anniversary Celebration Tournament, did very well on Oct 13-14, stealing the U7 title from Cosmos (2-1) and finishing 2nd in the U10 Silver division (2-4).
Last year, none of the teams made it to the Sunday play-offs.
Congratulations to the teams, coaches and players, and to the Belgian community in particular:
the Keyaerts played no less than 9 games across the weekend with their 3 children, and Saskia Beeusaert, newly appointed CP Team manager a few days before, saved the team from forfeiting the whole tournament and maybe the whole season.
